Youth and friends grades 7-12 are invited to participate in World Vision's 30 Hour Famine hosted by Lamb of God Lutheran Church on Friday, April 28th and Saturday, April 29th. The 30 Hour Famine is a weekend of fasting and learning about hunger and hunger related diseases while playing games, engaging in community service and participating in Bible study and prayer. Prior to the event, each group will participate in fundraising. Proceeds are donated to World Vision where the funds are used to teach improved farming techniques for healthier crops and livestock, provide access to clean water, run malnutrition centers during food crises and distribute emergency food supplies during disasters.
This event begins 6:30pm Friday (students will start their fast at 12:30pm that day) and we'll "break the fast" at 6:30pm Saturday. Each group who participates will choose a student leader who will help prepare one of the scheduled activities (all of the information needed for the activity will be provided.)
All Other Youth Groups: Please let us know by February 15th, 2017 if your church youth group will participate. Please provide the following information: Church name, Youth leader name, Youth leader e-mail and phone number and an Estimated number of participants (so we can order materials). Once we recieve your response, we will schedule a meeting in early March for all youth and students leaders, to provide event details. For those who may not be able to attend in person, we will communicate via e-mail. Contact Diane Dicke at firstname.lastname@example.org or 985-640-4266.
