The J.O.Y. (Jesus, Others, You) Quilters
J.O.Y. is a group of 29 women from various Lutheran churches who started as a quilting bible study in 1972 and brought their ministry to Lamb of God ten years ago. The quilters gather twice a month to piece, cut, stitch, iron and create the most unique quilts for charity that are auctioned off once a year at a large Auction and Luncheon event opened to the community. This year celebrates its 40th Anniversary.
Since 1972, over $306,197 has been distributed to the following charities: Safe Harbor, The Caring Center, Lutheran World Relief, American Red Cross, Rainbow Child Care Center, Pregnancy Help Center, Habitat for Humanity, Community Christian Concern, STARC, Mt. Olive Feeding Ministry, and NAMI.
J.O.Y. Bible study meets once a month with Elva Ellermann as the leader. All are invited to join.
Stay tuned for an announcement on the JOY 40th farewell Auction to be held this summer. The auction will include handmade quilts, crafts, vintage & estate items, plants and homebaked goods.
Proceeds will benefit: CCC, NAMI, STARC, & Mt. Olive Feeding Ministry
